Basil Gimlet

I love a good gimlet. It takes the best parts of a margarita, lime juice and a slight sweetener, and swaps in gin to give some more herbal notes. For this version, I upped the herbs by muddling some basil before all the other ingredients. It was a nice subtle touch.

For the photography, I used natural light of my dining room plus one off camera light on the side to really help highlight the different shades of green. The dark wood surface of our cart let the colors pop, especially from the light and basil.
